News Topical, Digital Desk : The longest shutdown in US history could end within days. The shutdown has been ongoing for more than 40 days, and the situation is now worsening.

Meanwhile, a Senate vote on Sunday is expected to resolve the issue. Republican leader and Senator John Thune said he is in discussions with Democrats about ending the shutdown; however, no final decision has been made yet.

Meanwhile, the US President has also hinted at an end to the shutdown. Speaking to reporters, President Trump said, “It looks like we're very close to the end of the shutdown. We never agreed to give any specific money, or any money at all, to prisoners or illegal immigrants coming into our country, and I think the Democrats understand that; and it looks like we're close to the end of the shutdown. Democratic senators proposed

Meanwhile, Democrats, led by Democratic Party leader and Senator Chuck Schumer, introduced a proposal on Friday that called for extending Affordable Care Act subsidies for at least one year. However, Republican members and President Trump himself initially refused to consider the proposal. Meanwhile, there are now indications that Republicans are working on a financial package that would provide a full year of funding for some departments and also help end the government shutdown.
