News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump addressed the Knesset in Jerusalem, Israel. During this, he said, "After two painful years in darkness and captivity, 20 courageous hostages are returning to their families."

A ceasefire has been declared amid the nearly two-year-long war between Israel and Hamas. Israel has honored Trump with the Peace Prize in this context.

The US President began his speech to the Israeli parliament on Monday by praising Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He said, "Thank you very much, Bibi. Great job." The speech came on the historic occasion when Hamas released 20 remaining hostages as part of a ceasefire and hostage deal brokered by the United States.

Trump's big announcement

Trump said the agreement represents a major step toward ending the war and achieving lasting peace. He described it as a historic new dawn for the Middle East. "This will be a golden age for Israel, just like it is now for America," Trump said.

The war stopped after two years

The release of all 20 hostages by Hamas brought an end to the two-year war that had left large parts of Gaza in ruins and claimed the lives of thousands of Palestinians. There is now hope that the ceasefire will open a new chapter toward lasting peace in the Middle East.
