In fact, after winning the World Cup, the Indian women's cricket team was supposed to appear in Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) Season 17, which was about to be shot, but Smriti refused to appear there. According to a Times of India report, Smriti Mandhana was supposed to shoot a special episode of KBC on November 26th with other team members, but she postponed it citing personal reasons.

Smriti's Haldi, Mehendi, and Sangeet ceremonies had already taken place, and this chaos erupted before the wedding. Her father, Shrinivas Mandhana, had to be rushed to the hospital due to a sudden medical emergency, halting the ceremony. Soon after, Smriti deleted all pre-wedding photos from her social media, although old photos of her with Palash remain.

While Mandhana stayed away from KBC, several stars from the World Cup-winning team participated in the KBC shoot.
