News Topical, Digital Desk : Telugu actor Shivaji faced widespread criticism after he commented on women's attire at a pre-release event for his upcoming film, "Dhandora." The controversy erupted when Shivaji, while addressing the audience, praised the female host for wearing a sari.

What was Shivaji's comment?

Speaking in Telugu, the actor said, “I request all actresses not to wear revealing clothes. Please wear sarees or clothes that cover the body completely. Beauty lies in the entire outfit or saree, not in showing physical attraction.”

He concluded by saying, "Freedom is precious – don't lose it. People will respect you based on your conduct. Even glamorization must have its limits; it should not cross a certain line."

Explaining the context behind his statement, the actor referenced an incident that occurred a week ago at Lulu Mall in Hyderabad, where actress Nidhhi Agerwal was surrounded by an unruly crowd during a promotional event for her upcoming film "The Raja Saheb." She appeared extremely distraught after being attacked.

Nidhi wore a sleeveless dress

Shivaji continued, "The incident that happened at Lulu Mall a week ago inspired me. Nidhi Agerwal had gone to an event. A huge crowd gathered there and started pulling her. She was wearing a sleeveless dress; she's a very nice girl, but a huge crowd attacked her. I saw her face – she was very embarrassed. That's why I felt I had to speak out." Previously, Shivaji had publicly apologized, admitting that his words were inappropriate.
