News Topical, Digital Desk : Shimla News: Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth visited the Army Training Command in Shimla on Monday (June 9). During this, he appreciated the initiatives of the Army Training Command regarding empowering strategic leaders, online training efforts, technology absorption and promotion of functional training.

The Minister of State for Defence was apprised by Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command on the vital role played by the Army Training Command in institutionalising training through 34 prestigious training establishments spread across the country, building doctrine and concepts based on contemporary and future challenges faced by the Indian Army and inculcating aspects of military leadership. 

Role of Army Training Command appreciated
Minister Sanjay Seth appreciated the role of Army Training Command in transforming the Indian Army into a modern, technology driven, self-reliant and combat ready force through absorption of niche technology and initiatives as a part of the Digital India Mission.

'Operation Sindoor is India's stand against terrorism'
Further, while interacting with the personnel at Headquarters Army Training Command, the Minister of State for Defence highlighted and appreciated the joint coordination of the Army, Navy and Air Force during Operation Sindoor . It was termed as a successful demonstration of India's firm stand to fight against terrorism and its perpetrators.

Planted a tree in the campus under 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam'
He highlighted the government's ongoing initiatives to increase the membership of NCC and expand Sainik School. Reaffirmed the government's commitment towards the welfare of ex-servicemen. Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth also planted a tree in the Army Heritage Museum campus as a part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign.
