Do not do this work at all

Offering water to the Tulsi plant is prohibited on Ekadashi  . Religious belief holds that on Ekadashi, Mother Tulsi  observes a waterless fast for Lord Vishnu. Therefore, offering water to the Tulsi plant is prohibited on Ekadashi. Furthermore, plucking Tulsi leaves on this day is also considered inauspicious.

You will not get auspicious results

Keep in mind that there should be no dirt near the Tulsi plant on Ekadashi or any other day . Also, never leave things like shoes, slippers, or garbage bins near the Tulsi plant. Doing these things could incur the displeasure of Goddess Lakshmi. 

Don't make this mistake

Touching Tulsi is also prohibited on Ekadashi , but you can worship Tulsi without touching it. Remember to avoid wearing black clothes during Tulsi Puja. This can increase negativity.

You will receive the blessings of Lord Vishnu

Offerings to Lord Vishnu are considered incomplete without Tulsi. Therefore,  during your worship of Lord Vishnu on Ekadashi,  be sure to include Tulsi in your offerings. You can also remove the Tulsi leaves a day in advance. On the evening of Ekadashi, light a ghee lamp near the Tulsi plant and chant Tulsi mantras. This will bestow special blessings on the devotee from Lord Vishnu.
