News Topical, Digital Desk : The market closed with gains on the third day of the week. Earlier, the market had witnessed a decline for three consecutive sessions. Nifty - Sensex closed in the green. Buying was seen in midcap and smallcap stocks. The midcap index closed at the upper level of the day today. Talking about the sectoral front, the metal, oil & gas, energy index closed on a rise. Apart from this, pressure was seen on realty stocks.

After a full day's work on Wednesday, Nifty closed at 24,620 with a gain of 78 points. Sensex closed at 80,998 with a gain of 261 points. Nifty Bank closed at 55,676 with a gain of 77 points. At the same time, Nifty Bank closed at 58,444 with a gain of 196 points. Which stocks saw action? Quick service restaurant stocks saw great action on Wednesday. Swiggy closed with a gain of about 9%. At the same time, Eternal i.e. Zomato closed with a gain of about 3%. After a positive brokerage report, Bhari Airtel closed with a gain of 2%. HDFC Bank closed with a gain of about 1%. This rise was seen after SEBI approved HDB Financial's Rs 12,500 crore IPO. AB Fashion Retail closed with a decline of 10% after a block deal of about Rs 1,000 crore. Alkem and Tata Technologies also saw a decline after the block deal. IEX closed with gains after this block deal. Shares of shipbuilding companies have seen a rise. Garden Reach closed with a gain of 6% and Cochin Shipyard closed with a gain of 3%. There was great buying in railway shares. IRCON International, RailTel and RVNL closed with a gain of 6-14%. Reliance Infra closed with a gain of 11% after NCLAT rejected the bankruptcy order of NCLT. PI Industries closed with a gain of 4% today. The company's largest customer Kuimai has raised the outlook of its business.
