News Topical, Digital Desk : Monday marks the start of a new month. Starting December 1st, several changes will be implemented nationwide, impacting both everyday life and the common man's financial needs, including Aadhaar card regulations and tax rules.
Sometimes, changes in rules enhance conveniences in everyday life, while sometimes they also add additional responsibilities. Therefore, it becomes important for the common citizen to understand the rules being changed so that they don't face any difficulties. So, let's learn about these changes…
LPG cylinder prices
Oil companies release LPG gas cylinder prices on the first of every month, and these prices are subject to change. Last month, cylinder prices were reduced by up to ₹6.50. Therefore, it remains to be seen how much cylinder prices will change in December.
Aadhaar related rules
The rules governing the Aadhaar card, which has become a common citizen's identity, are also set to change. Starting December 1st, Aadhaar cards can be easily updated. Information such as name, address, date of birth, and mobile number can be updated online. This update process allows data verification against government records such as a PAN card or passport. UIDAI has also launched a new Aadhaar app.
UPS last date
The deadline for the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) was extended from September 30 to November 30. Government employees can choose between UPS and NPS until November 30.
Changes in petrol and diesel prices
Like LPG cylinders, oil companies review petrol and diesel prices every month. However, these prices can also change daily. Prices depend on global market trends and currency. If prices change from December 1st, it will impact the common man's pocket.
Tax related rules
Additionally, November 30th has been extended as the deadline for fulfilling certain tax-related requirements. Some direct-tax compliance requirements expire on November 30th. This includes providing details of TDS deducted in October. This information is required under sections 194-IA, 194-IB, 194-M, and 194-S. Taxpayers should file their returns on time to avoid heavy penalties.
Life Certificate
Retired government employees need a life certificate to continue their pension. The deadline for submitting this certificate is November 30th. If the deadline is not extended and the certificate is not submitted yet, pensioners' pensions may be stopped.
