
News Topical, Digital Desk : There was a stir in Tonk district of Rajasthan when 11 people of two families got trapped in the strong current of water in the Deel river. These people included men, women and small children. All the people got trapped on an island due to the sudden rise in the water level of the river. Somehow they informed the Datwas police.
The police immediately called the SDRF and Civil Defence team through the control room. After about an hour of hard work, the team rescued all 11 people safely. The relief was that there was no loss of life and everyone was safely taken to their homes.
School staff was rescued by sitting in JCB
Many areas including Banasthali and Datwas villages of the district have been submerged due to heavy rains. Civil Defence and SDRF teams are engaged in relief and rescue work. People trapped in houses in Banasthali village were evacuated safely, while the school staff was rescued by sitting in a JCB. The markets of Datwas village are also submerged in water. The situation may worsen due to continuous rain.
Flood like situation, rivers in spate
Due to continuous heavy rains in the state, the water level of many rivers has crossed the dangerous level. More than 150 mm of rain has been recorded in Tonk, Sawai Madhopur, Baran and other districts.
3 gates of Bisalpur dam in Tonk district have been opened, due to which about 18,030 cusecs of water is being released. Due to this water, the danger may increase further in the surrounding areas. At the same time, Chambal river is flowing 9.36 meters above the danger mark in Dholpur.
Situation is also serious in Kota and Karauli
The water level of Parvati river in Kota has reached 3.35 meters above the danger mark. Gates number 8 and 9 of Kota barrage have been opened up to 16 feet and about 19,236 cusecs of water is being released.
On the other hand, the water level of Chambal river in Karauli and Sawai Madhopur has also crossed the danger mark. SDRF and NDRF teams have been deployed in these districts so that any emergency situation can be dealt with.
Alert from the government, rescue work intensified
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has ordered the Disaster Management and Relief Department to ensure the safety of people from monsoon-related incidents. After this, 3 teams of SDRF, 1 team of NDRF and 21 volunteers of civil defense have been deployed in Kota district.
Relief teams are also active in Dholpur, Karauli, Tonk and Sawai Madhopur. The state government has sought 2 additional teams from the Vadodara-based NDRF commandant.

Heavy rains have affected normal life in many districts of Rajasthan. SDRF and NDRF teams are engaged in relief and rescue work day and night.
