Priyanka Chopra stars in the film opposite South superstar Mahesh Babu. Priyanka Chopra recently revealed that when she was signing "Varanasi," she made a request to SS Rajamouli, which Mahesh Babu fulfilled.

Priyanka wanted to do this in films after six years

Priyanka Chopra, SS Rajamouli, and actor Mahesh Babu recently revealed in an interview with Cinema Blend the one request they all made happen. Priyanka said,

“I hadn't done an Indian film in six years. So when I called him (Rajamouli), he said, 'You know this female character is very cool and you have to do it.' I was taken aback and asked Rajamouli, 'Will you make me dance? Please, I haven't danced in a long time.' I shouldn't have asked, because there was a dance number in the film and we did a lot of dancing. Mahesh Babu even told me that I would have to do this just because of you.”

When will 'Varanasi' hit the theatres?

Apart from Priyanka Chopra, Mahesh Babu also spoke about the song in the film, saying, “It's a sensational song and I think we've already shot a song that's constantly playing in our heads. Priyanka sings this song all the time. She wanted to dance to this song and he (Rajamouli) made her do it.”

Fans are also very excited to see Priyanka Chopra perform a dance number with Mahesh Babu after so many years. This film is an action adventure time travel film. However, the makers are still maintaining suspense over the film's story. Mahesh Babu will be seen playing the role of Lord Rama in the film. The movie will be released in theaters in April 2027.
