News Topical, Digital Desk : The violence that erupted in Bangladesh following the death of Osman Hadi has once again raised serious questions about the safety of minorities living there. On December 18th, a Hindu youth, Dipu Chandra Das, was beaten to death by a mob and his body was later set on fire. Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi expressed deep concern over this horrific incident and asked direct questions to the central government.
Priyanka Chaturvedi, referring to the incidents taking place in Bangladesh on the social media platform X, wrote, "A Hindu man, Dipu Chandra Das, was lynched by a mob and his body burned. The Indian Embassy was attacked, injuring four people. The continued targeting of minority Hindus shows that radical Islamists have completely taken over Bangladesh."
Questions raised on the Ministry of External Affairs
Priyanka Chaturvedi said that this matter should be taken up on a priority basis. She asked, "What is the Government of India (GoI) doing to protect the interests of Hindus in this radicalized country? Has the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) at least issued a statement of condemnation?" She said, "Having two extremely radicalized countries to the east and west of India is not a good sign. How are we, as a nation, protecting our national security?"
