News Topical, Digital Desk : Who doesn't dream of becoming a mother? A mother keeps her child in her womb for 9 months. During this time she has to face many problems. From mood swings to irritability, there are problems. Apart from this, many changes also take place in the body of women during these months. Actually, at this time some special types of hormones are released in the body, which are called sex hormones.

These hormones not only affect the mother's body but also the brain development of the child in the womb. This is not what we are saying but a research. Let us tell you that a new research has revealed that the level of sex hormones in the womb can indicate how the child's brain will develop. It also gives an indication whether there is any possibility of autism (a mental condition) in the child or not.

Scientists from Cambridge University did the research

Let us tell you that this study has been done by scientists from Cambridge University in Britain. Researchers say that sex hormones like testosterone and estrogen, which are released during pregnancy, affect the child's ability to think and understand, behavior and brain structure.

Hormones reach through the placenta

These hormones reach the body through the placenta. This umbilical cord also works to deliver nutrients from the mother to the child. Research has also shown that the umbilical cord not only provides nutrition, but also helps in determining how long the pregnancy will last and how the child's brain will develop.

These determine the mental development of the child

Graham Burton, a scientist who researched this, says that the umbilical cord and sex hormones together determine how big and connected the child's brain will be. Another researcher, Alex Tsompanidis, said that if the level of sex hormones becomes too high or low during pregnancy, then different characteristics related to neurodiversity or brain development can be seen in the child.

The risk of autism is known earlier

This means that the level of hormones during pregnancy can be used to predict whether a child is likely to develop a condition like autism in the future or not. This research has been published in a well-known journal named 'Evolutionary Anthropology'.
