Shankh Air: There is good news for air travelers in the country. Today, a new airline company in the country's aviation sector got approval from the Ministry of Civil Aviation to operate. This is an important milestone for Shankh Air to start operations in India. However, the company is yet to get approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to officially start services.

Shankh Air will make hubs in Lucknow and Noida

Originally based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, this airline will currently set up two hubs in the country, which will be in Noida apart from Lucknow. The company says that for now, Shankh Air will start services on those domestic routes for which there is the highest demand and on which very few options are available. The Aviation Ministry's approval letter states, "Shankh Air has been directed to follow the relevant provisions of FDI, SEBI etc. as well as other rules and regulations in this regard." It states that the NOC given for operations will be valid for a period of three years.

Indigo's reign continues in the domestic industry

Let us tell you that at present IndiGo has a strong hold on domestic services all over India. IndiGo has more than 60 percent share in the country's domestic aviation industry. IndiGo's current fleet size and its services make it the largest airline company in the country.

SpiceJet's business is shrinking

Air India is the second largest airline company in the country after Indigo. Tata Group's Air India is focusing on expanding its business rapidly. However, another Indian airline company SpiceJet is constantly facing troubles. SpiceJet's market share has declined significantly. SpiceJet's market share was 5.6% in January 2023, which fell to just 2.3% in August this year. Not only this, SpiceJet's market share was 10.5% in the year 2021.
