News Topical,Digital Desk : Amid deteriorating relations with Pakistan, Joint Secretary of the Indian Foreign Ministry Anand Prakash met Afghanistan's acting Foreign Minister MA K Muttaki on Sunday. Muttaki invited India to invest in Afghanistan, to which the Indian delegation showed a very positive response.
Along with making new investments in Afghanistan, India has also talked about starting work on the ongoing projects which have been stalled for the last four years. All the aspects related to mutual relations were discussed in this meeting between India and Afghanistan at a time when relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan have also deteriorated a lot.
India-Afghanistan trade
One of the decisions taken by Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack is that it has refused to allow its land to be used for trade between India and Afghanistan in any way. Although this was already implemented on the ground, Pakistan has officially announced this.
Import and export of all products used to happen through trucks, but this has also stopped due to the closure of Attari border. After the Pahalgam attack, the Taliban government of Afghanistan condemned it in very strong words and said that such attacks harm regional security.
India sent these medicines
On 24 April itself, India has sent 4.8 tonnes of injections of tetanus, hepatitis B and influenza to Afghanistan, which is the first such aid from outside in the history of Afghanistan. On the other hand, relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan are continuously deteriorating.
The foreign minister has asked India to expand political and economic relations with Afghanistan. There are good opportunities to invest in Afghanistan right now and India should take advantage of it. Citizens of both countries should be allowed to travel easily to each other's countries. Businessmen, sick people, students etc. should get easy visa facilities.
