
News Topical, Digital Desk : Delhi PAC Meeting: An important meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Delhi Assembly was held today under the chairmanship of MLA Ajay Mahawar. In this meeting, serious discussions were held on many major issues related to the people of Delhi. Especially air pollution, irregularities in liquor sales and the reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) related to health services were discussed in detail.
The PAC members present in the meeting were Arvinder Singh Lovely, Satish Upadhyay, Shikha Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Rajkumar Chauhan, Atishi , Virendra Kadyan and Kuldeep Kumar. Apart from this, many senior officials like Additional Deputy Controller of CAG, Secretary of Health Department, Excise Commissioner, Transport Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretary of Environment Department, Secretary of Delhi Assembly and Finance Secretary were also present.
Focus on Delhi's most burning issues
At the beginning of the meeting, all the members of the PAC were formally introduced. After this, the relations and working methods between the PAC and the CAG were discussed in detail. The committee focused on the most burning issues of Delhi. There was an intense discussion on air pollution, which makes it difficult for Delhiites to breathe every winter. Apart from this, questions were also raised on the CAG reports related to irregularities in the sale of liquor in the capital and deficiencies in health services.
'Our job is not just to read CAG reports'
The PAC sought detailed information from the concerned departments to ensure transparency and accountability in all these matters. Also, the future action plan to resolve these issues was also discussed.
PAC President Ajay Mahawar said after the meeting, “Our job is not just to read the CAG reports. It is our responsibility to work in the interest of the public, maintain transparency and fix accountability for every wrongdoing. The issues discussed today are directly related to the lives of the people of Delhi. We will ensure that every question raised in the CAG reports is answered and an honest report is presented in the Assembly.
