News Topical, Digital Desk : Stock Market News: This year, on February 1, 2026, the Union Budget will be presented, despite it being a Sunday, and trading will be permitted on the NSE and BSE. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 on that day.

Business will be done on Sunday

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) informed investors in a circular that in view of the Budget, 'live' trading sessions will be held as per normal timings.

Pre-open market: 9:00 AM to 9:08 AM. Normal trading: 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM. Similarly, the BSE has declared February 1st a "special trading day" and stated that markets will remain open for regular trading hours. Markets remaining open on Budget Day will provide investors with an opportunity to react immediately to policy announcements.

End to budget speculation

The central government has clarified that the Union Budget 2026 will be presented on February 1st, as scheduled. Despite it being a Sunday, the budget date remains unchanged. All speculation surrounding the budget session has now been put to rest. The recent Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) meeting approved all key dates for the budget session. January 28: President's address to a joint session of Parliament

January 29: Economic Survey to be presented in Parliament

February 1 (Sunday): Finance Minister to present Union Budget 2026

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to present her ninth budget on this occasion. She has presented two interim and six full budgets so far. With this budget, she will surpass Pranab Mukherjee's record and equal P. Chidambaram's record of presenting the budget nine times.

It is also a special thing that for the first time in the last several years, the budget will be presented on Sunday, due to which this budget is being considered historic from both political and economic point of view.
