Sometimes even weekly leave is not given
State President Shyam Lal Pal says that in Noida, workers are being paid between 10,000 and 11,000 rupees and are being made to work for 10-12 hours. Often, they are not even given weekly holidays.
For several months, hundreds of workers had been demanding wage increases and overtime for extra work. They were peacefully protesting outside the Madrasan Company in Phase 2, demanding a pay raise, but the local administration and police resorted to lathi-charge to forcibly end the protest.
