There is an uproar over the fact that animal fat is mixed in the Laddu. Meanwhile, a statement by spiritual guru and Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravishankar has come out on the Laddu controversy.

This is the height of greed, the culprits should be given severe punishment

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said that whoever has done this is malicious. This is the height of greed of the people involved in this adulteration work. The spiritual guru said that the culprits should be given severe punishment. All their property should be confiscated and whoever is even remotely involved in this process should be put in jail.

 Every food product needs to be tested 

The spiritual guru said that we need to check not just laddus but every food product. Even the ghee available in the market. He asked whether anyone is checking what the companies are putting in the ghee? Those who adulterate food and label it as vegetarian and put any kind of non-vegetarian substance in it should be given very severe punishment.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar gave special advice

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said that for temple management we need to see that it is under the supervision of saints, swamis and spiritual leaders. We need to form a committee. 

He said that spiritual leaders from both the North and the South should look after the temple. 

There should be a person from the government as well, but he will have to play a small role.  

The spiritual guru said that the major decisions, supervision and everything of the temple should be like other religious boards like SGPC of Sikhs, Muslim bodies, Christian bodies.
