New Delhi :  Trouble due to rain and landslides still persists in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Cloudburst in Manikaran valley of Kullu district in Himachal caused flood in Tosh Nala on Monday night. Due to this, the bridge connecting Tosh village was washed away and the village has been cut off from communication. Two shops were also washed away and homestays and restaurants have also been damaged.

200 stranded tourists rescued safely

On Tuesday, the administration built an alternative bridge and rescued 200 tourists stranded in the village. Meanwhile, the Badrinath highway remained blocked for 12 hours due to rain in Uttarakhand. Due to this, more than two thousand passengers remained stranded on the way.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for very heavy rainfall at some places in three districts of the state, Kangra, Una and Sirmaur on July 31, and for the next two days thereafter in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur districts.

Badrinath highway remained blocked for 12 hours in Chamoli

Heavy rainfall continues in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand. Due to this, the Char Dham Yatra routes are continuously getting disrupted. The Badrinath Highway was blocked for 12 hours due to debris falling in Gulabkoti of Chamoli due to the rain since Monday night.

During this time, more than two thousand passengers were stranded on the way. At four in the morning, debris fell on the Badrinath highway at Langasu and Gulabkoti. The road was cleared by clearing the debris at Langasu at nine thirty, but it took 12 hours for the Border Roads Organisation to clear the vehicular movement at Gulabkoti.

Orange alert issued in Uttarakhand

According to the Director of Meteorological Centre, Bikram Singh, an orange alert has been issued for heavy rain in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital and Champawat on Wednesday. There are chances of heavy rain in some places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar as well. This sequence may continue for two days.
