New Delhi: For the first time, the Pakistan Army has admitted its involvement in the 1999 Kargil war with India. After the admission by Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir, now Kargil war hero Vikram Batra's father GL Batra's statement has come out, he has criticized Pak forces for the atrocities committed on Indian soldiers.

Speaking to ANI on Saturday, Batra said that it has been 25 years for Dr NK Kalia, father of Captain Saurabh Kalia, an Indian Army officer killed in action during the Kargil war, seeking justice.

“Hope they get justice soon.”

Batra further said, 'When they are saying that the Pakistani army was involved in this, it is clear that whatever atrocities were done on those soldiers, it was done by the Pakistani army. It has been 25 years now that Dr. Kalia is seeking justice. He is fighting for it, 'This case is in the International Law Court and is moving forward with the hope that he will get justice.'

'India and Pakistan should live together in peace'

Batra's father further said, when the Pakistani Army Chief has accepted the fact that the entire Kargil war was started by the Pakistani Army, then if something can be done to give peace to the hearts of those old parents, then it should be done.

He also said that he wants India and Pakistan to live together in peace and this is for the good of both countries. 'I want both the neighbouring countries to live in peace like good neighbours. This is the progress of both the countries.'

Who is Captain Kalia?

Captain Kalia was captured by the Pakistani Army during the Kargil War and was killed after being brutally tortured.

His father NK Kalia expressed deep concern about the atrocities against his son and said that the actions of the Pakistani army violated the Geneva Convention. He also filed a petition in the Supreme Court, demanding the central government to take the case to the International Court of Justice.
