New Delhi: CM Kejriwal Grants Bail CM Arvind Kejriwal has got bail from jail in the liquor scam case. A two-judge bench gave the verdict on CM Kejriwal's bail. The bench of Justice Suryakant and Ujjal Bhuiyan had reserved the decision after hearing the arguments on the case on September 5.
What did Justice Suryakant say?
During the hearing, both the judges have given different opinions. Justice Suryakant has said that the arrest of CM Kejriwal was correct. However, Ujjal Bhuiyan did not agree with Justice Suryakant.
Justice Suryakant said that his arrest is not illegal. Freedom is an integral part of the judicial process. It is unjust to keep a person in jail for a long time. It is depriving someone of freedom.
On what conditions did CM Kejriwal get bail?
The Supreme Court has released him from jail. The Supreme Court has granted him bail with some conditions. According to the court, he cannot go to the CM's office. Also, he cannot contact the witnesses. The third condition is that he will cooperate in the investigation. The court has released him on a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh. He can neither go to the CM's office nor sign any file.
