Mumbai Gangster Arrested: Azad Maidan Police of Mumbai has succeeded in arresting a gangster who was absconding for 37 years. Police sources said that the arrested gangster had serious crimes registered against him like attempt to murder and possession of illegal weapons.
To fool the police, the accused was hiding in the hilly areas where there was no mobile network, but the police continued searching. Ultimately, without any concrete information, the absconding cell of Azad Maidan Police arrested the accused.
Police said that the arrested accused's name is Mangesh Govind More alias Mangesh Manjrekar. He was a resident of Shastri Nagar area of Dombivli. More was absconding in a 37-year-old attempted murder case. The accused was hiding since 1988, evading police's clutches. Police did not have any concrete information. Only this much was known that the accused's native village is in Ranwad of Mahad taluka of Raigad district.
Police further said that the accused had left his family 37 years ago. He had also broken contact with relatives. Therefore, the police did not have any concrete information about him. The police only knew that the accused's native village was in Ranwad of Mahad taluka. Based on that information, the police was keeping an eye on his activities, but it was found that the accused was not coming there either.
Finally it was found out that the accused lives in Nanemachi, a village in Waki Budruk, 15 km away from the village. This village is located in a hilly area and there is no proper road to reach here. Apart from this, the mobile network is also not good in that area. In such a situation, the police team reached the spot and arrested the accused.
Manjrekar was wanted in a 1988 attempt to murder case registered at Azad Maidan police station in south Mumbai and a non-bailable warrant was issued against him. He already has other criminal cases registered against him.
