District Judge-6 Pankaj Kumar Verma's Special POCSO Court on Tuesday found two accused guilty and sentenced them to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment each. They have also been asked to pay a fine of Rs 20,000 each.

Punishment will be given for not depositing the fine amount

If the fine amount is not deposited, an additional sentence of six months will have to be served. After sentencing, Bhim Thakur and Anita Kumari were sent to jail in judicial custody. This decision of the court has come after hearing the arguments of defense lawyer Pundarik Mishra and prosecution side Special Public Prosecutors Daroga Singh and Vinay Shankar Rai.

Let us tell you that on 16 March 2018, a minor girl from Gopalpur police station area was taken to a room of the house to settle the milk bill, where she was made to sit and the door of the room was closed. Bhim Thakur of Sukdevpatti village, who was already hiding in the room, raped her forcefully. The girl fell unconscious.

The trial was going on in the POCSO Special Court

When she regained consciousness, she was covered in blood. Hearing her screams, people from the neighbourhood came and broke the door of the room and took her out and got her treated. In this regard, Mahila Thana Case No. 13/2018 was registered. After the police charge sheet report came, the trial of the case was going on in the POCSO Special Court. After the sentencing, the accused were burning in the fire of remorse.
