Following Nusrat Bharucha's visit to the Mahakal Temple, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, National President of the All India Muslim Jamaat, reacted strongly. He stated that a Muslim woman visiting a temple to worship, offer water, and follow Hindu religious traditions is against Islam. According to the Maulana, Islam and Sharia law prohibit such acts. He described this move as a violation of religious rules and a serious matter.
Nusrat Bharucha is guilty in the eyes of Shariat - Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi
According to IANS, in a statement issued from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi stated that Nusrat Bharucha is guilty under the Sharia law. He stated that the actress has acted against the tenets of Islam, thus constituting a major sin. The Maulana further stated that because she has acted against Islam, she has fallen under the purview of Sharia law and is a victim of a grave sin.
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi further stated in his statement that Nusrat Bharucha should repent. He advised her to recite Istighfar and the Kalma. According to him, repentance is the only way out of this situation.
