New Delhi. Many companies have again expressed their interest in investing for AC and LED light manufacturing under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. Seeing the interest of the companies, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has given time to apply again under the PLI scheme.

When can you apply

Companies will be able to apply for manufacturing AC and LED from 15 July to 12 October. 66 companies have been selected for manufacturing AC and LED lights as per the earlier applications. These companies will invest Rs 6962 crore for manufacturing various parts of AC and LED. These companies will also be able to apply to increase their investment limit till October.

You will be able to avail benefits till financial year 2028-29

These companies are going to start production work soon. Companies will be able to avail the benefits of PLI scheme till the financial year 2028-29. The companies that make AC parts mainly include Daikin, Voltas, Hindalco, LG, Blue Star, Johnson Hitachi, Panasonic, Haier, Media, Havells.

The companies that manufacture LED parts include Dixon, Surya, Orient, Cosmo Films, Stove Crafts, Halonix, Inventronics. Currently, ACs and their parts are imported on a large scale. Some companies assemble ACs in India. Similarly, since LED light parts are not manufactured domestically, they also have to be imported on a large scale. This import is mainly from China.
