Mangala Gauri Vrat Puja Vidhi

On the day of Mangala Gauri Vrat, wake up early in the morning, take a bath and wear clean clothes. After bathing, take a vow of fasting with folded hands. Spread a red cloth on a stool at the place of worship. Place a photo or idol of Maa Parvati on it. Light a ghee lamp and place it at the feet of the idol of Goddess Parvati and worship with Shodashopachar method. Also offer cloves, betel nut, cardamom, fruits, betel leaves, laddus, Suhaag items and 16 bangles etc. to Goddess Parvati. Offering 16 things in the number of Mangala Gauri Puja is considered auspicious. After this, read the Vrat Katha and do Aarti.

Rules of Mangala Gauri fast (Mangla Gauri Vrat Niyam)

  •  You can keep a fruit diet during the Mangala Gauri fast. Apart from this, satvik food can also be eaten.
  • But grains like wheat, rice or pulses should not be consumed during the fast.
  • Also, do not consume white salt and garlic-onion during the fast.
  • Women who are menstruating should not worship Mangala Gauri Vrat.
