Following a shootout, both accused are now in police custody.

The discovery of a young woman's body in a secluded forest in the Subhash Nagar area on April 14th shocked the entire district. The deceased was identified as Priyanka Raikwar, who was to be married on July 8th. Solving this murder was a major challenge for the police, and Superintendent of Police Shashank Singh deployed four teams, including the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Surveillance Team.
The accused were caught within 24 hours.
Within just 24 hours, the police confronted the killers who had committed the crime. During the siege, the suspects, riding a bike, opened fire on the police. In retaliation, police bullets struck the main accused, Sumit Singh, and his accomplice, Dharmendra, in the leg, leading to their arrest. The story that emerged during the interrogation shocked everyone.
The two had been in a relationship for many years.
Sumit, a resident of Mavai Khurd, had a long-standing love affair with Priyanka. During their ongoing affair, Sumit married, but when his wife discovered their illicit relationship, discord erupted at home, and his new bride left him. Sumit felt that Priyanka had ruined his home. Meanwhile, when he learned that Priyanka had also been engaged elsewhere, his anger reached its peak. Seeking revenge, Sumit, along with his friend Dharmendra , lured Priyanka late at night on the pretext of meeting her and brutally murdered her by strangling her with a white towel.
Weapons and bikes also recovered
Priyanka's brother is a constable in the UP Police, but the criminal's obsession with killing her didn't deter her. Police have recovered the towel used in the murder, the victim's mobile phone, two pistols, and the bike used in the crime from the accused. In addition, two pistols and cartridges were also recovered from their possession.
Both are undergoing treatment
Both suspects injured by police bullets are undergoing treatment at the district hospital. This swift and courageous police action has sent a strong message to criminals. Currently, the police are pursuing the investigation based on CCTV footage and other evidence.
