
News Topical, Digital Desk : The Sambalpur-Shalimar-Sambalpur Mahima Gosain Express derailed near Sambalpur in Odisha on Thursday morning. Police and railway officials have reached the spot and efforts are on to assess the situation and ensure the safety of the passengers. Let us tell you that this incident happened around 9:15 am, when the train was moving towards the station at a very slow speed. The train was coming from Bhubaneswar to Sambalpur. As soon as it reached Sambalpur City Station, the rear trolley part of the general bogie suddenly derailed just ahead of the guard van. There is no report of any passenger being injured or any kind of damage in this incident. All the passengers on the train are safe. It is a matter of relief that the speed of the train was very low at the time of the incident, due to which a major accident was averted. A statement issued by the East Coast Railway said, “The rear trolley portion of general bogie adjacent to the guard van of 20831 Shalimar - Sambalpur Express derailed at slow speed near Sambalpur City station. There were no casualties. The train has been diverted to Sambalpur station.”
Goods train derailed in Mumbai
Recently, a goods train derailed near Monkey Hill in Bhorghat on the Mumbai-Pune railway route, however, no one is reported to be injured in this incident. A Central Railway (CR) spokesperson gave this information. He said that traffic on the route has been affected and two trains going to Pune are halted. Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Swapnil Neel said that the 'brake van' (guard's compartment) of the goods train derailed near Monkey Hill Halt station in the hilly Bhorghat railway section at around 2 pm. He told 'PTI-Bhasha' that "no one is reported to be injured" in this incident.
Goods train derailed in Jharkhand
Several coaches of a goods train loaded with stones derailed in a railway yard in Jharkhand's Sahibganj district recently. A railway official gave this information. The official said that there is no report of any casualty in this incident. This incident took place in Barharwa railway yard under Eastern Railway in Jharkhand's Sahibganj district. Eastern Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Kaushik Mitra told PTI-Bhasha, "Some coaches of the goods train overturned. No operation was affected due to the incident. We are gathering more information in this regard."
