According to the Vedic calendar, the Chaturdashi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the month of Phalguna will begin at 5:34 pm on February 15th. It will end at 6:04 pm on February 16th. Therefore, Mahashivratri (Phalguna Chaturdashi Vrat Date) will be celebrated on February 15th.

Significance of Mahashivratri (Mahashivratri 2026 Significance)

According to religious beliefs, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were married on Mahashivratri . It is believed that on this day, Lord Shiva appeared in the form of a Jyotirlinga and blessed the entire world. • Wake up early in the morning, take a bath with water mixed with Ganga water and take a vow to fast.
