Madhubani SP Yogendra Kumar stated that the victim is Indian, not Bangladeshi. A police team has been formed to arrest the accused. A case of attempted murder will be filed against them, and other legal action is being taken.

In reference to the viral video, Madhubani Superintendent of Police Yogendra Kumar informed the media on Friday (January 2) that a video of an assault incident in the Rajnagar police station area has come to light via social media. In this video, some individuals are beating a man, claiming he is a Bangladeshi.
The police immediately took cognizance of the viral video, verified the scene, and initiated immediate action. Investigation revealed that the incident occurred on Tuesday (December 30, 2025) in Chakdah village, under the Rajnagar police station area.

In this regard, the Rajnagar police station contacted the victim. Investigation revealed that the victim is not from Bangladesh but a resident of Supaul district and works as a hawker. A preliminary examination of his mobile phone revealed nothing incriminating.
Based on the victim's statement, a case number 550/25 has been registered at the Rajnagar police station under relevant sections of the IPC. All the accused have been identified.
A team was formed to arrest the accused.
Taking the incident seriously, Madhubani Police has formed a team under the leadership of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Sadar-02, to arrest the accused. The Police Intelligence Department is engaged in the search for the accused. Madhubani Police is committed to ensuring just and fair action.
Legal action is being taken in the case, and the situation is currently peaceful. Madhubani police have also appealed to the public to refrain from sharing misleading information or provocative videos on social media that could disrupt mutual harmony. Police have also intensified the search for the person who made the video viral, although the video has caused a sensation in the district.
