News Topical, Digital Desk : Pakistani Products In India: After the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam , Jammu and Kashmir, India has made it clear that now 'terror and trade' cannot go together. Under this, India has ended all kinds of trade relations with Pakistan. Despite this, products made in Pakistan are being sold easily on India's e-commerce platforms. These products are being sold without any valid permission, GST payment and quality standards.
Mumbai-based BJP North Indian Front vice-president and businessman Niloptal Mrinal ordered Pakistani cosmetic products from an online website, which reached his home in three days. He said that the distributors of these 'Made in Pakistan' products are spread across cities like Delhi, Meerut and Malegaon. Surprisingly, no information regarding the ingredients has been given on these products.
'Cosmetic Jihad' in India!
Niloptal Mrinal expressed concern that dangerous chemicals or even acids can be mixed in these products, which can cause serious harm to the health of consumers. He said, "A product coming from Pakistan for Rs 50 is being sold in India for Rs 1600. The money from this profit can be used to fund terrorists. This is a kind of 'cosmetic jihad'."
After receiving the product, Niloptal has complained about it to Mumbai Police, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other investigating agencies and has demanded action.
Skin whitening products were seized in Pune
It is worth noting that the FDA in Pune recently seized skin whitening products - especially 'Goree' brand creams and soaps - illegally imported from Pakistan. These products were brought from Lahore without a valid license and were being sold in various salons, clinics and shops in India. Investigation revealed that these products contained dangerous chemicals like mercury, lead and steroids, which can cause serious health problems like skin cancer, nervous system problems and hormonal disturbances.
High levels of mercury found in Goree cream
The amount of mercury found in 'Goree' cream was 17.2 grams per kilogram, which is thousands of times more than the permissible limit. The FDA has banned the sale and distribution of all such products and has appealed to people not to buy them. Not only this, countries like New Zealand and Australia have also banned such skin whitening products, because 'forever chemicals' (PFAS) are found in them, which can pose a long-term threat not only to the body but also to the environment.
