Your mind starts thinking about different problems and starts jumping from one thought to another like a monkey. Now you are unable to understand how to stop it. This restlessness has taken away your night's sleep and you are unable to understand why this is happening, then it may be Night Anxiety.

What is night anxiety?

Night anxiety, as you can understand from its name, is night time anxiety that starts before sleeping. There can be many reasons behind it, but one thing is certain that it can make it very difficult for you to sleep at night. Lack of sleep increases your body stress, the effect of which is seen the next day. Although it is not a permanent problem, this cycle continues if it is not managed.

Why does night anxiety occur?

There can be many reasons for night anxiety. If there has been a big change in your life or you have a problem which you are not getting time to solve, then all these things start roaming in your mind at night. Another reason can be that while sleeping, your attention remains in one place and your mind starts focusing on the problems of your life. One reason for this can also be that if you are under stress during the day, then the level of stress hormones remains high at night as well. This can also cause night anxiety.

How to manage night anxiety (Relaxation Techniques for Sleep)?

 

Do journaling- Before going to bed at night, write down whatever is going on in your mind in a diary. This will relax your mind.

Create a bedtime routine- Listen to a relaxing podcast or song every day before going to bed. This will relax both your body and mind.

Distance from the phone- Switch off the phone and keep it away at least one hour before sleeping at night. Using the phone before sleeping does not allow your mind to relax and increases the risk of anxiety.

Meditate- You can meditate for 10 minutes before sleeping . It calms your mind, which benefits your health and also helps you sleep well.

Clean your room- If your room is messy or your bed is dirty, then your thoughts are also the same. So always keep your bedroom organized and clean.
