News Topical, Digital Desk : The whole world is currently in the grip of severe heat. The month of June 2025 was the hottest month ever for 12 countries, while record levels of heat were also recorded in 26 other countries.

About 790 million people in Europe, Asia and Africa were affected by this dangerous heat. According to the data of the European Climate Monitor 'Copernicus', this increasing heat is a direct sign of climate change.

 

The heatwave in late June in western and southern Europe lashed countries such as Belgium, France and the Netherlands. Switzerland, Italy and all the Balkan countries recorded temperatures 3 degrees Celsius above the June average.

 

Heat breaks records in Asia

Japan experienced its hottest June since records began in 1898. 14 cities recorded record-breaking temperatures. Sea temperatures were also 1.2 degrees above normal.

 

Both South Korea and North Korea recorded temperatures 2 degrees above average.

102 weather stations in China recorded the hottest June in their regions. Temperatures in many places exceeded 40 degrees Celsius.

Pakistan and Tajikistan had their hottest June on record. Afghanistan, Iran, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan had their hottest springs on record between April and June.

 

African countries are in a bad condition due to heat

Extreme heat was recorded in Nigeria, South Sudan, Congo and Ethiopia. South Sudan recorded an abnormal rise of 2.1 degrees. Schools were closed as students fainted due to the heat.

The United Nations World Meteorological Organization (WMO) warned that climate change is exacerbating problems of hunger, security and displacement in Africa.
