During this period, the company's market valuation reached $4 trillion. He reduced the company's dependence on China for manufacturing, focusing on countries like India. Cook will assume the role of executive chairman starting in September.

"Becoming Apple's CEO and being trusted to lead such an extraordinary company has been the greatest privilege of my life," Tim Cook, 65, reportedly said in a statement. "I love Apple with all my heart and am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented, innovative, creative, and deeply caring team of people."
Who is John Turness?
John Ternus is Apple's head of hardware engineering. He is considered an excellent choice for the CEO role, having overseen the technology used in iPhones, iPads, and Macs for the past five years.
