Butter and Mishri- The Infinite Love of Bal Gopal
It is mentioned in Shrimad Bhagwat and Puranas that Nandlal Shri Krishna was very fond of stealing butter since childhood. He used to break the pot of butter in the houses of the gopis and eat it with great love and also distributed it among his friends and monkeys. Butter is considered a symbol of purity, simplicity and affection, while sugar candy is a symbol of sweetness and love.
Offering sweet sugar candy along with fresh, white butter made at home on Janmashtami not only pleases Lord Krishna but also brings peace, love and joy in the life of the devotee. It is believed that this offering brings happiness and positive energy in the house.

Flour, milk, cardamom, fennel and ghee are used to make Malpua, which are fried in desi ghee and dipped in sugar syrup. Its taste is so divine that it is called the 'King of Bhog'.
On the night of Janmashtami, when the birth anniversary of Laddoo Gopal is celebrated, offering Malpua is believed to bestow the Lord's special blessings on his devotees and fill their lives with sweetness and prosperity.
