When does the monsoon arrive every year?

He said that rain activities are likely to intensify in parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat in the next 24 to 48 hours. Sharma said that the monsoon normally enters Madhya Pradesh by June 15 and reaches the entire state except the northern region by June 19.

The southwest monsoon reached Kerala on May 24, the earliest monsoon arrival over Indian land since 2009. Though it was expected to arrive in Madhya Pradesh in early June, it has been delayed due to weather conditions.

Last year, the monsoon arrived in Madhya Pradesh on 21 June. This year, the monsoon arrived in Kerala eight days before the scheduled time. According to the Meteorological Department, this is the first time in 16 years that the monsoon has arrived so early. In 2009, the monsoon arrived nine days earlier. Last year, it arrived on 30 May.
