News Topical,Digital Desk : These days our lifestyle is deteriorating rapidly, due to which many health related problems can occur. Liver damage is one of these problems, which is causing trouble for many people these days. Liver is one of the important organs of our body, which performs many important functions in the body. However, due to many reasons, its health often starts deteriorating.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a common liver problem, which occurs due to accumulation of too much fat in the liver. Usually this happens due to obesity, high cholesterol or drinking too much alcohol. In such a situation, when there is a fatty liver, the body starts giving its signs. Today in this article we will tell you about some such signs of fatty liver visible on the face, which are visible on the skin.

Jaundice

If your liver is not functioning properly, then your skin starts to look yellow. This happens when bilirubin builds up in the blood stream . Bilirubin is a yellow pigment that is formed when red blood cells break down. In such a situation, if the liver is damaged, it is unable to process it properly and it starts accumulating in the blood, due to which the skin starts to look yellow.

Pigmentation

Pigmentation can also be a problem due to cirrhosis or severe liver damage. Actually, it causes hormonal imbalance, which affects the functioning of the liver and results in skin pigmentation, causing brown spots on the face and black spots on the hands and feet.

Excessive bleeding

Normally, the liver helps in blood clotting, which helps in stopping bleeding in case of injury etc. However, when the liver starts to get damaged, the ability to form clots may decrease. Due to this, even a minor injury can become serious and bleeding may increase.

Swelling

People with cirrhosis often experience swelling, especially in the abdomen or lower body (edema). This swelling occurs because the liver cannot make enough proteins, such as albumin, which help maintain fluid balance in the body. When albumin levels are low, fluid can leak from the blood vessels into the tissues, causing swelling.

Yellow patches around the eyelids (xanthelasma)

Xanthelasma is a yellow patch around the eyelids caused by fat accumulation under the skin. It can occur when the liver is not functioning properly. It is more common in women aged 40 to 50 and often occurs with high cholesterol .
