Sharmin started her career as an assistant director with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She worked in films like 'Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela', 'Mary Kom', 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. In 2019, she made her acting debut with Bhansali's production film 'Malaal'. After this, she appeared in the horror-comedy 'Atithi Bhooto Bhava' in 2022 alongside Jackie Shroff and Pratik Gandhi.
