Heeramandi's Alamzeb became a mother, Sharmin Segal gave birth to a son after 2 years of marriage

Sharmin welcomed her first child, a son, with her husband Aman Mehta on 28 May 2025. Journalist Vicky Lalwani shared this news on social media, but Sharmin and Aman have not yet officially confirmed it.

The Bhansali and Segal families are filled with joy with the arrival of this little guest. Sharmin's parents Deepak and Bela Bhansali Segal, as well as her uncle Sanjay Leela Bhansali, are extremely happy at this special moment.

Sharmin got married in the year 2023

Sharmin and Aman got married in a private ceremony in Italy in November 2023. Aman Mehta is the executive director of Torrent Pharmaceuticals, which is part of the Torrent Group. Many Bollywood stars attended their wedding. After marriage, Sharmin settled in Ahmedabad, but in recent months she was in Mumbai. 

According to sources, Sharmin had prepared for the birth of her child in Mumbai itself. Torrent Group owner and Aman's father, Sameer Mehta's net worth in 2024 is $6.44 billion (about Rs 53,800 crore) according to Bloomberg.

Sharmin's film career

Sharmin started her career as an assistant director with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She worked in films like 'Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela', 'Mary Kom', 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. In 2019, she made her acting debut with Bhansali's production film 'Malaal'. After this, she appeared in the horror-comedy 'Atithi Bhooto Bhava' in 2022 alongside Jackie Shroff and Pratik Gandhi.

'He played the character of Alamzeb in Hiramandi'

Her role of Alamzeb in 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' received mixed reviews. Some praised her acting, while others trolled it calling it 'expressionless'. Sharmin said in an interview, "I gave my all to the role of Alamzeb. The negative comments get more attention, but there were a lot of positive reviews too."

'Heeramandi' was released on Netflix in May 2024 and its grand sets and story caught the attention of the audience. Sharmin and Aman keep their personal life away from the limelight.
