News Topical, Digital Desk : A severe heat wave continues in Uttar Pradesh. These days, it feels like fire is pouring from the sky. Hot winds have made it difficult for people to leave their homes. Along with the days, nights are also becoming scorching, and the weather remains dry across the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow heatwave alert for several districts, including Agra, Firozabad, Sitapur, and Varanasi, on April 21st. 

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry in both divisions of Uttar Pradesh today, Tuesday. People are currently seeing no relief from the heat. Along with the days, hot nights are also making people sweat. In cities like Prayagraj and Varanasi, the mercury has reached 44-45 degrees Celsius, which is 5 degrees above normal. The intense heat will continue throughout this week. 

Heatwave and severe heat warning in UP

The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for 26 districts across the state today. These include Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Kannauj, Auraiya, Farrukhabad, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bahraich, and Shravasti in western Uttar Pradesh. Heatwave warnings have also been issued for Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, and Ghazipur in Purvanchal. 

Additionally, a heat alert has been issued for 14 districts in western Uttar Pradesh: Saharanpur, Shamli, Baghpat, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Moradabad, Amroha, Sambhal, Rampur, Pilibhit, Bareilly, Badaun, and Kasganj. This means there will be no peace during the day or rest at night. The heat will continue for 24 hours. 

Temperature rises above normal in Lucknow

The sun's wrath will continue throughout the day in the capital, Lucknow . People will be tormented by intense sunlight throughout the day. Dry winds have increased the heat. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature here is expected to hover between 41 and 42 degrees. In Noida and Ghaziabad , the maximum temperature is also expected to reach 40 degrees. Furthermore, temperatures in several districts, including Agra and Mathura, are expected to remain above 42 degrees. 

In light of the intense heat and heatwave, the health department has urged people to be cautious. Such weather can lead to dehydration and heatstroke. Therefore, only venture outside during the day if absolutely necessary. Avoid leaving the house on an empty stomach and drink plenty of water. Cover your head or use an umbrella in the sun.
