News Topical, Digital Desk : According to the Vedic calendar, Hariyali Amavasya is on Thursday, July 24. On this auspicious occasion, a large number of devotees take bath in holy rivers including Ganga. After this, Lord Shiva is anointed with Ganga water. On the day of Hariyali Amavasya, the ancestors are offered tarpan and pinddaan. Along with this, charity is also done.
There is a religious belief that by offering tarpan to ancestors on Amavasya, ancestors of three generations attain salvation. Also, a particular person gets freedom from Pitra Dosh. Also, the blessings of ancestors shower on the person. Their blessings lead to happiness, good fortune and increase in progeny. If you also want to get the blessings of ancestors, then recite this Chalisa at the time of Tarpan on Hariyali Amavasya.
