- Light an Akhand Deep - Light an Akhand Deep in the temple of the house for nine days of Gupt Navratri . This lamp can be of Desi Ghee or mustard oil. - Secret remedies of black pepper - At night, when all the members of the house sleep, take some black pepper in a bowl and keep it at a place in the house where no one can see it. - Smoke of camphor and cloves - Before going to sleep at night, light a clay lamp with some camphor and a few cloves. - Durga Saptashati recitation - If possible, recite any one chapter of 'Durga Saptashati' or 'Durga Chalisa' on the night of Gupt Navratri. Do this recitation with full devotion and concentration. It is believed that Goddess Durga is pleased with this recitation and defeats all the obstacles in life.
