News Topical, Digital Desk : Ganga Dussehra, the most important festival of Jyeshtha month of Sanatan Dharma followers, will be celebrated on Jyeshtha Shukla Dashami Tithi on June 5. On this day, there will be Vajra Yoga along with the conjunction of Uttara Phalguni and Hasta Nakshatra. According to religious beliefs, on this day, pleased with the efforts and penance of King Bhagirath, an ancestor of Lord Rama, the stream of Maa Ganga descended on earth. Maa Ganga brought purity and prosperity to the earth. Lord Shri Ram established Shivling in Rameswaram on this day. Jyestha Shukla Dashami is called Samvatsar Mukhi. Bathing and donating on this day is considered very pious. According to the Smriti Granth, bathing in Ganga and donating on the day of Ganga Dussehra liberates one from sins equivalent to ten Maha Pataks (three physical, four verbal and three mental).

  • Royal bath - from 04:59 am to 06:42 am
  • General bath- from 05:15 a.m. throughout the day 
  • Gulik Kaal Muhurta: 08:24 am to 10:06 am 
  • Char-Labh-Amrit Muhurta: From 10:06 am to 03:15 pm 
  • Abhijeet Muhurta: from 11:21 am to 12:15 pm

You will get the boon of prosperity and progeny growth 

Astrologer Acharya Pandit Rakesh Jha from Patna told on the basis of Panchang that on this day, the auspicious combination of Uttar Phalguni and Hasta Nakshatra, Siddha Yoga and Ravi Yoga is being formed. Prosperity will come by doing charity on this day. 

 

On the day of Ganga Dussehra, donation of sattu, fan, seasonal fruits, betel nut, jaggery, pitcher of water gives blessings of health, prosperity and growth of progeny. On this day, by donating ten lamps after bathing, ancestors attain salvation.

 

On this day, by meditating and bathing in the Ganga, one is freed from sins like lust, anger, greed, infatuation, envy, jealousy, brahminicide, deceit, fraud and backbiting of others. 

 

Take a pledge to clean Ganga 

On the day of Ganga Dussehra, take a pledge to keep the Ganga clean. The greatest worship of Maa Ganga is to maintain its purity. If we are able to keep the Mokshadayini Maa Ganga clean, then she will remain life-giving for the coming generations as well.
