In the capital, Lucknow, farmers surrounded the Hazratganj police station in protest and raised slogans against the government.

A large number of farmers began gathering at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow and staged a massive protest. 

Farmers surrounded the Hazratganj police station and demanded the release of Rakesh Tikait. A large police force was deployed at the scene in response to the protest.

The impact of Rakesh Tikait's arrest was also felt in Moradabad, western Uttar Pradesh. Angry farmers have begun protesting at various police stations in Moradabad, demanding Tikait's release. Large numbers of farmers began gathering there on Monday and sat down on mats. 

Farmers say that Rakesh Tikait was on his way to Odisha to strengthen the ongoing agitation over farmers' issues. However, he was arrested there. They allege that the government is trying to suppress the farmers' voice. 

Demand for release of Rakesh Tikait

The protesting farmers clearly stated that their sit-in will continue until Tikait is released with respect. The arrest of Rakesh Tikait is completely wrong. This is an attempt to suppress the voice of the farmers. Our sit-in will continue until he is released. 

In Meerut and Bijnor, BKU workers have also launched a call for jail-filling and police station sieges. In Mawana, farmers surrounded the CO's office and raised slogans, vowing to remain silent until Tikait is released.
