However, domestic institutional investors are continuing to buy in the cash segment.
DII figures on 21 July 2025: First of all, let's talk about domestic institutional investors. DIIs bought shares worth Rs 13,793.86 crore in the cash segment on Monday. But, on the other hand, they also sold shares worth Rs 10,215.43 crore. In this way, domestic institutional investors have made a net purchase of Rs 3,578.43 crore in the cash segment on this day.
FII figures on 21 July 2025: If we look at the figures of foreign investors, shares worth Rs 10,823.67 crore have been bought in the cash segment on this day. Also, shares worth Rs 12,504.90 crore have also been sold. In this way, foreign investors have made a net sale of Rs 1,681.23 crore in the cash segment on this day. What is the trend of institutional investors so far in July? Before July, foreign institutional investors have been net buyers in the cash segment on a monthly basis for 4 consecutive months. But, the figures so far in July are a cause of concern. FIIs have made a net sale of Rs 18,636.98 crore in the cash segment so far this month. Out of a total of 15 sessions this month, FIIs have made net purchases only on 5 days. In the remaining 10 sessions, net selling has been seen from their side. At the same time, continuous buying has been seen from domestic institutional investors. DII has made a net sale of Rs 25,471.95 per share so far this month.
How was the market on Monday?
The market showed enthusiasm on Monday. There was good buying in banking stocks. Buying was seen in metal, realty and auto stocks. Oil & Gas, FMCG and IT stocks remained under pressure. Buying continues in midcap stocks. The Smallcap index closed better than the lower levels. Nifty has achieved the level of 25,000. The index closed near the upper level of the day. Buying was seen in HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank after the first quarter results.
Sensex closed at 82,200 with a gain of 443 points. Nifty closed at 25,091, up 122 points. At the same time, Nifty Bank closed at 56,953 with a gain of 670 points. At the same time, Nifty Midcap Index closed at 59,468.
