
News Topical, Digital Desk : Foreign investors have made big purchases in the Indian stock market on Thursday, August 21. According to NSE data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 1246.51 crore in Indian shares on Thursday, which was their biggest single-day purchase since August 8. While domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were also net buyers and bought shares worth Rs 2546.27 crore.
According to NSE, on Thursday, FIIs bought shares worth Rs 14960.14 crore while selling shares worth Rs 13713.63 crore, making the net purchase of FIIs Rs 1246.51 crore. DIIs have continued to buy in the Indian stock market. Domestic investors bought shares worth Rs 14,514.86 crore on Thursday and sold shares worth Rs 11,968.59 crore, making the net purchase Rs 2546.27 crore.
How was the market performance The Indian stock market closed with gains for the sixth consecutive day on Thursday. Reliance Industries supported the benchmark index, although midcap and smallcap stocks came under pressure. NSE Nifty 50 closed 33 points or 0.13 per cent higher at 25084, while the BSE Sensex rose 143 points or 0.17 per cent to 82,001. The Nifty Bank index was almost flat and closed with a marginal gain of 57 points at 55,755, as financial stocks underperformed.
