News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump has imposed tariffs on many countries around the world. Now, his decision is facing opposition within the US. Meanwhile, Trump has once again defended his tariff policy.
In fact, Trump has called those who oppose tariffs fools. He claimed that because of tariffs, the United States has become the richest, most respected country in the world, with virtually no inflation.
Trump claims that the proceeds from the tariffs will provide everyone with a dividend of at least $2,000 per person. He wrote this on his social media platform, Truthout.
'Those opposing the tariff were called fools'
In his post, President Trump wrote that those who oppose tariffs are fools! He further wrote that America has become the richest, most respected country in the world, with virtually no inflation and record-high stock market prices. 401k accounts are at an all-time high.
Trump also claimed that the US was earning trillions of dollars from tariffs, allowing the US to soon begin paying down its massive debt of $37 trillion.
Trump claims record investment in America
Trump further stated that record investment is now pouring into the United States. He wrote in his post that plants and factories are opening everywhere. He also stated that everyone (except high-income earners!) will receive a dividend of at least $2,000 per person. However, he did not elaborate on how the proposed payments would be made.
