New Delhi: All kinds of films are made in the colorful world of cinema. Comedy genre is liked here, and films full of drama also have their own fun. Amidst all this, there are some films which show the truth that millions of people are unaware of. Sanoj Mishra, who has been an important face of the film industry for years, has dared to show one such truth in the film 'The Diary of West Bengal'.

Sanoj Mishra has made many films like 'Gandhigiri', 'Srinagar' and now he has shown the story of Bengal on screen. 'The Diary of West Bengal' is the story of that Bengal, where there is love among the people, but violence is also growing somewhere. Why is this so and how do the people there try to overcome it, in an exclusive conversation with Jagran.com, director Sanoj Mishra talked about the problems faced in making the film and the support he got from Kangana Ranaut.

Only Kangana supported from Bollywood

Sanoj Mishra told that when the controversy over his film started, only Kangana Ranaut spoke in his support from Bollywood. A few days before the release, he went to Kolkata on the call of the police. Seeing the situation there and the growing controversy over his film, he feared something wrong might happen to him, after which he immediately left from there. Meanwhile, his phone was switched off. In such a situation, no one was able to find his location.

The director said that Kangana Ranaut is now an MP along with being an actress. When she came to know about my disappearance and threats, she posted on social media. Also, she extended a helping hand to me off camera. Sanoj Mishra also said that Kangana is a bold actress. Some people do not like her speech, but she is a woman who speaks on the front foot, no matter what her personal matters are.

The response to 'The Diary...' allayed my concerns

The film 'The Diary of West Bengal' was released in theatres on 30 August. Sanoj Mishra said that this movie was released on limited screens (600). The film was allowed to be released only in Mumbai, Delhi and South. But now this screen release has increased from 600 to 1000. The movie is getting positive response from the people, which has relieved their worries.

Film shooting in the jungle

' The Diary of West Bengal ' was shot at different locations in Kolkata. Director Sanoj Mishna said that 'The Diary of West Bengal' is a serious issue, so shooting it in Kolkata was not as easy as it seemed. The scenes of the film were shot in the jungle. Then before the release of the movie, he was getting threatening calls. There was also a strong demand to ban this film because it shows the Bengal where people had to face a lot of trouble due to Rohingya Muslims and Bangladeshis.
