New Delhi. Actor Abhishek Banerjee, who plays the character of Jana in Stree 2, has been in the news not only for his films but also for a controversy.

In a podcast interview, he had said about Karan Johar's film Agneepath that he was doing the casting for this film, but later he was removed. Now after the controversy over this increased, Abhishek clarified the matter and told what actually happened?

Misunderstanding the vision

On Monday, Abhishek released a statement on social media, in which he has put forth his views in detail. The statement said that the reason for separating from the 2012 film Agneepath was that we were unable to understand the vision of director Karan Malhotra.

Anmol and I were very young at that time, we must have been 20-23 years old. We did not have the experience to do a big commercial film. That is why we failed to understand Mr. Malhotra's vision.

I am continuously working with Dharma

Abhishek further said that we never accused Dharma Productions of doing anything wrong. The truth is that I respect Dharma and Karan Johar a lot. I never said that Karan Johar was behind my removal, but still some reports are claiming so. This decision was actually taken by Mr. Malhotra's (Agneepath director) team and I agree with it.

Abhishek further said in the statement-

Abhishek finally wrote that Dharma has always done well with me and my company Casting Bay. Apart from Stree 2, Abhishek is currently also seen in Veda, in which he has played the main villain. Abhishek has worked in many films and series, but his most recognized character even today is the Prime Video series Paatal Lok, in which he played the role of Hathauda Tyagi.
