The Maharashtra government has formed a committee of seven state ministers for the 2027-28 Mahakumbh. BJP leader and minister Girish Mahajan has been appointed as the Kumbh Mela minister and head of the committee.
Apart from this, the names of other 6 member ministers are as follows-

3. Uday Samant
4. Jaykumar Rawal
5. Advocate Manikrao Kokate

Preparations underway for Simhastha Kumbh in Nashik
Following the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, preparations for the Simhastha Kumbh to be held in Nashik, Maharashtra, have begun. Around 25 officials from Maharashtra spent 4-5 days in Prayagraj during the Maha Kumbh and will use their experiences in the Nashik Kumbh. The state government is taking the Kumbh preparations very seriously and claims to have no budget constraints.
Special arrangements will be made at railway stations and airports.
The Nashik Simhastha Kumbh also draws a large crowd of devotees. People participate enthusiastically in this sacred fair. This year, 120-140 million devotees are expected to attend the Simhastha Kumbh. Improved arrangements will be made for the convenience of the devotees. Special arrangements will be made at the railway station to control crowds. Arrangements will also be made for more flights to land at the airport. Furthermore, improved vehicle parking arrangements will be made.
Special focus on security arrangements
In addition, temporary health camps will be set up to ensure cleanliness and the health of devotees. This will require a large number of doctors and paramedical staff. Furthermore, a significant focus will be placed on security arrangements. The Simhastha Kumbh in Nashik will be held in the month of Shravan in 2027. Just six months later, the Simhastha in Ujjain will begin in the month of Vaishakh in 2028.
