News Topical, Digital Desk : A shocking incident of inhumane treatment of 56 Indian travelers has come to light at the Georgian border. A woman has claimed that despite having valid e-visas and documents, Georgian authorities forced the travelers to wait for hours in the cold without food, water, or toilet facilities.
This incident has raised serious questions about Georgia's treatment of Indians. Sharing her ordeal on Instagram, a woman named Dhruvi Patel explained that her group was kept standing in the cold for over five hours at the Sadakhlo border crossing with Armenia, Georgia. Their passports were confiscated, no information was provided, and they were forced to sit on the sidewalk. She said she felt like they were being treated like animals.
'We were treated like criminals...'
Dhruvi Patel alleged that the officials filmed them as if they were criminals, but when the passengers tried to film them, they were stopped. Shockingly, the officials didn't even check their documents and simply declared their visas invalid. Patel called this "shameful and unacceptable."
He tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar in his post, calling on the Indian government to take a firm stance on the matter. The incident occurred at the Sadakhlo border, the main land route between Armenia and Georgia.
